On Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 3 p.m. EDT, AMFF Ambassador Scott Biron will join Curator Jim Schottenham for an educational presentation on the Chief Needahbeh fly pattern. This classic pattern—and the story of its originator—has a fascinating history. Scott and Jim will explore the fly’s origins, its historical significance, and how it fits within the tradition of northern New England fly patterns. Scott is an active fly-tying instructor and is a popular attraction when presenting his instructional tying lessons at national, international and regional shows. In addition to breaking down the materials used in its construction, Scott will also demonstrate how to tie this pattern.
