The Pflueger Medalist fly reel has been a staple in the fly fishers’ arsenal for decades. Introduced in the 1929 catalogs, it was a moderately priced reel with a proven track record of solid performance. The early versions from the late 1920s to early 1930s are prized by fly anglers and easily spotted thanks to their sculpted frame pillars and metal spool latches. The Medalist series of reels are still sold today.
